Email: “It’s strange that Kulusevski doesn’t start, as he usually scores against Manchester City,” Jonas wrote. “Okay, he wasn’t up to his standards last game, but neither was Son, Madison or Johnson.”

Tottenham’s defence: With Radu Dragushin for only the fourth Premier League since arriving at the club from Genoa in a £26.7m deal, it has looked like Dutch speedster Mickey van de Ven will line up at left-back. The prospect of seeing him in a full-on contest with Kyle Walker is mouth-watering – the two could go wrong.

These teams: Big Ange makes three changes to the SPurs team that started against Burnley, one of them necessitated by Yves Bissouma’s knee injury. Radu Draguzin gets a rare start for the side he joined in January, while Rodrigo Bentancourt and Pierre-Emile Hojberg also make the squad. Oliver Skip and Dejan Kuluszewski remain on the bench.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made one change to the side that displaced Fulham. Kyle Walker starts while Nathan Ake, who was injured in that game, is among the substitutes.

Fun fact: This is remarkable and well known, but there may be some readers who do not know that Manchester City have never scored a goal or taken a single point in any of their four Premier League away games on Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It hasn’t been for want of trying as they’ve had 74 shots on goal for Spurs in their four Premier League home defeats since they started, and also missed a penalty when they lost 1-0 there in the Champions League in April 2019 Mr.

They finally succeeded in breaking the hold in January when Nathan Ake was late to smash the duck at the stadium in a 1-0 FA Cup win with a controversial goal that left Tottenham players and supporters in a frenzy. They felt Ake’s winner should have been ruled out for what some – but not the only people whose opinion mattered – saw as a foul on their goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, in the build-up.

Tottenham Hotspur: Ange Postecoglou says he does not understand why some Tottenham supporters would prefer to lose against Manchester City on Tuesday if it means Arsenal miss out on their first title in 20 years. Really? Words: Ed Ahrens.

Manchester City: Pep Guardiola admitted he and his players will feel like “creaking time” ahead of their crucial visit to Tottenham on Tuesday as they seek to win a record fourth successive title. Jamie Jackson reports…

talksport: We all know that the phone-in on sports radio is a perfectly accurate barometer of public opinion, so it was interesting to hear Andy Goldstein and Jamie O’Hara taking calls from Tottenham fans on their Drive show this afternoon. Going by what I’ve heard, there’s a pretty even split between supporters who want their team to win tonight and those who want desperate to be beaten.

Squires: Our cartoonist never misses a beat, so come see an embarrassed Gunnersaurus trying to wipe the ‘spurs’ off himself in the shower and stay for the gag about Noel Gallagher refusing to do ‘Poznan’ with his mate Manchester City Fulham fans.

How are things

We all know, but it would be a gross breach of journalistic duty not to remind everyone. A win for City would see them overtake Arsenal and go two points clear Premier League summit, leaving them in the title race going into the final round of games on Sunday.

A win or a draw for Spurs would leave Arsenal in first place ahead of their final game of the campaign against Everton, as they have a slightly better goal difference (+3) than City, who host West Ham on the final day of the season. Following Aston Villa’s late comeback against Liverpool last night anything less than a win tonight will end Tottenham’s already slim hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

A point would be enough to secure Ange Postecoglou’s side fifth place and a place in the Europa League, but defeat would leave them vulnerable to being overtaken by one or both of Newcastle United and Chelsea, who are six points behind Spurs and are left to play two games each. Newcastle have a significantly greater goal difference than Spurs, while Chelsea’s is currently identical.

Seventh in the table may not be enough to qualify for next season’s European football, for reasons that almost entirely depend on how Manchester United perform in their two remaining league games and the FA Cup final. Most available recent evidence suggests that they will do very poorly.

Early team news: After limping off in Manchester City’s first-half win over Fulham with an ankle injury, Nathan Ake is Manchester City’s injury problem and was due to undergo a fitness test today. His inclusion in the City line-up looks unlikely and it was Kyle Walker who replaced him on Saturday, deputizing at right-back so that Manuel Akanji could move into the heart of defence, where he had a trouble-free night.

Tottenham have a relatively long list of lame-ducks and will be without Richarlison, Yves Bissuma, Ben Davies, Manor Solomon, Timo Werner and Destiny Odogi tonight. Ryan Sessegnon, who has made just one seven-minute appearance for the club this season, remains sidelined with a long-term hamstring problem.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City

Premier League: So that’s it. Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City tonight in a game that has Arsenal fans everywhere morally conflicted really need and want them to win or draw to boost their favorite club’s chances of winning a first Premier League title in 20 years. There will be plenty of Tottenham fans who will also be feeling a bit dirty inside, knowing that a win is also essential to keep their slim hopes of Champions League qualification alive next season, but it could also go a long way. to help their bitter north London rivals win the league.

Anything less than a win for Spurs will deny them a place at the top of European football next season and despite Ange Postecoglou claims otherwisethere are almost certainly plenty of season ticket holders at White Hart Lane who would happily take that particular shot for the prize of seeing Arsenal’s title hopes take a hammer blow.

We’ll find out in due course if their players are ready, although Jamie Redknapp insists they will be naturally motivated to do their best because they have something to play for and besides, it’s not in the elite athlete’s nature to relax. Whether the best of them will be good enough against the reigning champions remains to be seen, so expect what could be a very intense and intriguing contest. Kick-off in North London is at 8pm (BST), but we’ll have plenty of squad and build-up news in the meantime.
