Jordan Ablett shared a heartwarming reminder to appreciate mothers all days, not just Mother’s Day.
The wife of AFL legend and two-time Brownlow medalist Gary Ablett lost his mother, Trudy, to lung cancer in 2020.
Trudy died in August of that year, just months after Jordan and Gary gave birth to their son Levi was battling a rare degenerative disease.

“When your mother is no longer here, you quickly realize how every day is an opportunity to celebrate your mother,” Jordan wrote on Sunday.
“So that she always knows, not just MD, how much you love her and how you appreciate her love and all her sacrifices.”
Gary took time out from the AFL midway through the 2020 season to be with his grieving family.
He later played in Richmond’s grand final loss that year to Geelong – his last AFL game.
Jordan has spoken about her mother many times since her death four years ago, most notably in November 2020 when she, Gary and Levi were on Whitsunday holiday.
With a photo of Jordan hugging Levi on the sand, there was a touching message.
“Mom. I love you,” she wrote in a post.
“The last time I was on this beach was almost seven years ago and it was with my mother and my husband. We enjoyed a picnic and spent quality time together.
“Always thinking of you.
“How special it is now to sit here with our son making new family memories.”
Shortly after Trudy’s death, Jordan talked about the influence her mother had on her life and on her sisters’ lives.
“The way you lived taught us girls how to weather the storms of life together – with great strength, courage, selflessness, love and faith,” she said in September 2020.
“I miss you so much and I think about you every day and it’s so hard. No one can replace a mother’s love, and certainly not yours.
Jordan and Gary have three children together – Levi, Grace and Ezra.
Ezra’s name was kept secret for six months until they revealed it in January.
