Eurovision 2024 live: Switzerland takes early lead as votes counted to decide song contest winner | Eurovision 2024

The results are starting to arrive for Eurovision 2024…
My experience is that I won’t try to give you a detailed account of the incoming votes, because it happens very quickly. We will hear the opinion of the 37 countries. The competition organizer for the EBU, Martin Osterdahlwas especially booed when he was on screen to say the voices were “good”.

We are 34 judges out of 37 and Switzerland is (quick math) 133 points ahead. But a country can collect hundreds of points in the public vote, so it is not done and deleted in any way.
If you’ve just joined us, Switzerland has a big lead with 30 of the 37 judges giving their ratings. A public vote can change everything. But here’s Nemo’s Code, which is up front right now…
Martin Josterdahl, who is the public face of the show’s host, was booed as he relayed the votes to the jury from the Netherlands. The Netherlands refused to announce its own votes after Joost Klein was disqualified after the EBU said he was involved in an incident involving a female member of the production team.
WORLD. MOLY. Delete ✨✨✨ Twelve points from Greece to Cyprus! ✨✨✨ and replace it with ✨✨✨ Twelve points from Greece to Switzerland! ✨✨✨
Switzerland, Ireland, France, Italy, Croatia and Portugal are the top six after 17 of the 37 juries, but that will all change once the public vote is added.
Down at the bottom of the table, Estonia still has the dreaded zero points, Israel, who we expect to do well in the vote, has just 3, and the UK, Spain and Serbia are struggling with just 6.
I didn’t expect ✨✨✨ Keytar! ✨✨✨ to appear twice, but Australia did!
The announcement of Israel’s jury results was loudly booed in the arena when it appeared on the screen. They gave 12 points to Luxembourg.
9 of the 37 countries have reported so far, and almost all of them have not taken it well, saying too much and delaying the announcement of who gets 12 points as long as possible to grab air time.
Swiss Nemo gets some early jury points here, but a cynic (ie me) knows that you can pick the order of the jury to produce an early frontrunner who will later be overtaken with TV drama potential.

Voting has ended and we are awaiting confirmation of the results.
