Greetings to all, and welcome to the afternoon of a breathless sports Saturday. As we digest the how, why, and do you mind if not, the Championship final, we have some important Premier League games to cover. Luton’s failure to beat Everton last night encouraged Nottingham Forest, whose fate is therefore in their own hands and they will be looking to put a world of light between themselves and the drop zone with victory over doomed Sheffield United. Burnley still fancy their chances of survival after promising recent performances and host a Newcastle side eyeing a Europa League slot. Everywhere else, the local bantz but not much else is at stake when Brentford host Fulham.

Further on, Real Madrid can win the Spanish title today if they beat Cadiz at home in the 15:15 BST kick-off and Barcelona fail to beat Girona in their 17:30 match. In the Bundesliga, dethroned Bayern Munich can at least secure a place in second place if they beat third-placed Stuttgart, while Dortmund will look to follow up their dynamic performance against PSG with a win over Augsburg as they look to close the gap on fourth.

There is also significant action in Scotland, with leaders Celtic hosting third-placed Hearts looking to extend their three-point lead over Rangers (who play Kilmarnock tomorrow), while the battle for survival heats up as second-bottom Ross County host Hibs and third-bottom St Johnstone in Aberdeen, Oh, and has a National League North play-off final between Brackley and Boston to stay across from.
